This is the band Flatirons playing the Golden Smog song "Until you came along" in Keystone, CO on July 21, 2004.

Tom Scholten- guitar, lead vocal
Judi Moss- vocal, tambourine
Dean Nye- bass, vocal
Dave Moss- drums

Between Tom's 360-12 and my 4001, we've got 16 strings worth of Rickenbacker goodness going on this song!

  • great song, great job covering it!

  • Thank you- I'm glad you liked it! Don't forget to check out my cover that I did by myself. Maybe you'll like it too... let me know if you do.

  • Dean, I'm a bass player, too. I showed my 13-year-old the video and he said, "That bass player reminds me of you the way he jumps around." What is it about playing the bass?

  • Good question. I've seen plenty of bass players who stand there looking like all they care about is getting paid at the end of the show. Then there are the guys like us, jumping around and having fun. I'd much rather watch the one jumping around if I was in the audience.

In this case, I was more excited about playing this song than I was about playing the bass. Don't get me wrong- I can't stand still when I'm onstage, but this time I was stoked about playing one of my all time favorite songs.

  • Oh so BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Thanks for this. It's one of my fav songs of all time and you guys nailed it. Where was this???

  • Thanks Theresa! It's one of my all time favorites as well. This was shot up in Keystone, Colorado in the summer of 2004. I'm the one jumping up and down while playing the bass.

This band broke up a few years ago, and of all the songs we did, this was, without a doubt, my all time favorite. I recently did a version of it by myself here at home- if I can make a video for it, I'll post it on here.

By the way, your version of this song is great too! You've got good taste in cover songs! ;)

  • You've done a very good job of covering a great song. The entire "Weird Tales" CD is great, and this song is one of the highlights on that CD. The lack of audience respect for such a fine version of such a great song is a bit sad. But it's somehow in keeping with the song. You should be congratulated for having such fine taste!

  • great job! too bad the real song isnt on youtube which im suprised about. But great job!

  • another good job!

  • Nice work guys!
