The April 2010 tornado outbreak was a multi-day tornado outbreak across a large portion of the Southern United States, originally starting in the High Plains on April 22, 2010 and continuing through the Southern Plains on April 23, the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys on April 24 and finally ending in the Southeast coast on April 25. The most severe activity was on April 24, particularly in Mississippi. The outbreak was responsible for ten tornado-related fatalities on April 24, all in Mississippi from a single supercell that crossed the entire state.
The most catastrophic storm of the entire outbreak cultivated over northern Louisiana during the late morning hours of April 24. The first report of damage was received shortly after 11:00 am CST (1600 UTC) near the city of Tallulah, Louisiana. From that point, the supercell tracked from west to east across the entire state of Mississippi for the next 4 hours, weakening as it entered Alabama just before 3:00 pm CST (2000 UTC). Along the way, it produced severe damage in several locations including the Eagle Lake area of Warren County, Valley Park in Issaquena County, Satartia and Yazoo City in Yazoo County, Ebenezer and Durant in Holmes County, areas north of Kosciusko in Attala County, French Camp and Chester in Choctaw County, north of Starkville in Oktibbeha County, and east of West Point in Clay County.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency reported that almost 200 homes were destroyed throughout the state. In Attala County, 35 homes were damaged with seven injuries. Sixty homes were damaged and 25 injuries occurred in Holmes County. In Monroe County, 48 homes were damaged and one person was injury. Warren County had 42 homes damaged. In Choctaw County, 114 homes were damaged with 15 people injured. Yazoo County suffered the most devastation with 319 homes damaged. The tornado was up to 1.75 miles (2.8 km) wide at its widest point. Ten people (three of them being children) were killed by this tornado - four in Yazoo County, one in Holmes County and five in Choctaw County.
It remains uncertain if it was multiple tornadoes or a single tornado that touched down, but it is currently estimated by storm surveys (based on a ground survey analysis) that it was a single tornado that tracked at least 149 miles (240 km) from near Tallulah, Louisiana, to at least Sturgis, Mississippi in extreme western Oktibbeha County. Further surveys - including an aerial survey - are to be carried out to determine if the damage in all the counties affected - including the eastern part of the supercell's track in Oktibbeha and Clay counties (currently estimated to be separate EF2 tornadoes) - were from the same tornado or from multiple tornadoes. The tornado was rated as an EF4, producing EF4 damage in Yazoo City and near Durant and I-55. According to The Weather Channel, the tornado is the strongest tornado in Mississippi since the Enhanced Fujita Scale was introduced in 2007. It was also the deadliest tornado day (and deadliest single tornado if confirmed as such) since May 10, 2008 when a tornado killed 21 in Oklahoma and Missouri.

@lionsforlyons Do you have any video of your GR LVL2 scan on here? I'd love to see what the 'vortex hole' looks like with that.

I am a student of meteorology and we have been studying this storm specifically since the beginning of the semester. It is probably a debris ball, but it is also entirely possible that we are looking at the vortex hole of the tornado. I think Dr. Forbes on the Weather Channel also mentioned that as a possibility. I'm not 100% certain there is a way to verify debris ball or vortex hole. Either way, excellent video.
