Well, in fact two eras, but well... This is the start of my video series "An Era in Fashion" about fashion in the Empire-Era to the 1930s, but maybe I'll make some more.

  • Throughout most of history, women's clothes looked to be damned uncomfortable. This period of time, to me, clothes were the most beautiful. Most of them almost look comfortable, except that you know that they were not. Women were still encased in whalebone corsets & such. Only the ancient Greeks & Roman woman looked comfortable in their clothes but many, many centuries of discomfort were to follow.

  • These clothes look more modern to me than those of the following 9 decades.

  • It most certainly beats the Vicky Pollard range of clothing hands down, and women looked so much more gentler and classy.

    During the Midle ge too, chothes were comfortable...until the early XVI th century.
