Wonderful version of the Bob Nolan-classic 'One More Ride'.
The song was recorded several times by Johnny Cash. For the first time during his SUN-days in Memphis (incomplete version only of october 1, 1957) and later for his first album on Columbia 'The Fabulous Johnny Cash'. That version recorded on august 13, 1958 is the best known Cash-version to most of the public.
This version however was recorded for the Marty Stuart-album 'Busy Bee Cafe' on april 16, 1981 and featured besides Cash: T.Michael Coleman on bass (present on practically every Watson-recording and liveshow around that time), Doc and Merle Watson both on guitar, Marty Stuart on mandolin and backingvocal. Cash appeared on the album on several songs. Besides this one, he sang on a super acoustic version of his ownpenned classic 'Hey Porter' (rec. april 16, 1981 as well) and the Lester Flatt-song 'Get in line, brother' (rec. january 19, 1982)
