how's the performance? Im thinking about getting a refurbished one from the apple online store. Would you recommend getting it for the uses of internet, email, video editing, garageband, iphoto, and school work. Since I will be using this much, do you think I should buy a new white one with a larger hard drive?

It's pretty fast, not lightning fast but very clean, smooth, and does processes in a short matter of time. Internet, iPhoto, school work, and email will work wonderfully. garage band, video editing will be fine.

hows the trackpad?

its pretty cool. definately better than the white/black macbook-the only thing is you need to click on the bottom 3/4 of, like a normal trackpad. i dont use it too often, though, only when traveling.

well then a mac should do great. its great for students, simple enough for moms, and advanced for graphic designers. and its compatible with microsoft word, vista, etc.

I have a vista laptop bought it 5 months ao and is running really slow for a dual core
