awesome review, thanks for taking the time! I've had an Edirol R09HR for awhile it's okay but the preamps are a little noisy, time for change I'm not worried about XLR inputs on a hand held recorder, How is your D50 now is it still holding up ? I heard the D50 probably has the best Preamps on a "handheld recorder"...dunno if that's true. The M10 looks great but I'm leaning toward the D50. thanks

Is the quality of a unit like this significantly better than recording via a lapel microphone directly to an iPhone? Just trying to work out whether I need yet another device (assuming I don't need to do things like separation on the device itself).

Really really good review! Thanks so much. Someone recommended the Tascam mark 2 to me but this Sony.... I like it!
Is it possible to record two tracks via two seperate mics with this?

@BobbyMiller - No, you're limited to a single track recording on this unit.

Do you prefer Sony PCM-M10 or Zoom H4n??? I´m gonna buy one of them, and I dont know which one!! I tried the Zoom H4n, and it has a really high quality. I´m musician, and sometimes I need an almost professional recording. Thank you for the video!!!!

@Tiavioli - The Sony PCM-M10 has proven itself to be a high quality, reliable portable audio recorder. I really want a recorder that has XLR inputs and am considering the purchase of the H4N, myself. If/when I purchase the H4N--or have a chance to review prior to then--I will!

Can I also adjust the headphones level?

@weeq326 - Yes, the headphone volume can be adjusted easily by using the volume control +/- buttons on the left side.
