Barely Punisher at all? Wasn't it still Frank Castle? Didn't it feature a man whom in a cruel twist of fate sought to deliver punishment to the wicked and corrupt? The thing about a good story is that every time it's retold, something changes. The director chose to retell the story only this time his family died at a family reunion, rather than a picnic in the park.

Ok here's my opinion, while War Zone stuck more to the comic books, we have to remember that throughout the years comic books would create different types of Frank Castle, if we wanted to see a comic book completely re-told, then eventually we would see Franken Castle someday, you want that? Besides this movie reflects The Punisher's personality PERFECTLY! Sure the origin is re-told so what, the issue re-mains the same, personality same, tactics same. So yeah I love this movie more.

I liked Thomas Jane as the punisher the best, I won' t argue that War Zone was closer to the comic books, I just thought the Thomas Jane version gave more purpose and attitude to the punisher

all so what people dont seem to know is that this is the second punisher film and warzone is the third because the original was made back in 1989 and Dolph Lundgren starred as the punisher (Frank Castle)

This was the best superhero movie by far! He wasnt the comic book punisher as war one played out but the story and movie was better in the first one. if you wanna see a comic book based movie, watch war zone. if you wanna see a family man turned into a killing machine the first one is the way to go

@NeroMaddox ya i was pissed about that to like really u were the main character i can see a minor character but really and the story almost resets itself, differnt everything when i first saw that I wanted to call up the producer and go wtf get tom and make a better fing punisher you had no story get a life and make the movie good damn
