don't look at quebec... it's probably the most christian province in canada!

If theists were to admit that their beliefs are nonsense they would also have to admit that their parents were either wrong or lying, and that they have spent a large part of their lives wasting their time. Those are two pretty big admissions to make.

"...historicity..." <-EXCELLENT. Public education does not teach me such great words.

@lothrazar I agree. I heard there's a show in Sask. or Alberta, I can't remember which, I just keep forgetting to look it up.

It is absolutely certain that we are here and we will die

Surfin' Matt is making me chuckle... :-)

Absolute certainty is useless. You can be absolutely 100% certain about something and still be wrong.

@afro777777 No, because one need not be sure that "there aren't any sures in life." One could be very confident that said claim is true yet not claim to know that the claim is true with absolute certainty. But actually, if you consider Descartes' Meditations, each person does know with absolute certainty that he or she exists... but that's about the only absolute "for sure." Hope that helps.
I agree with the caller, you guys are doing a great job and I am 10,000 miles away. Fundamentalists in afghanistan are a threat to afghanis and their neighbours, fundamentalists in the US (or any other major nuclear power) are a threat to our species.
