rushing beat review pt.1

this is my first video game review I've ever done. this is a review on rushing beat and it's part one of it, too. basically, japan has rushing beat; we had the crappy rival turf, brawl bros., and peace keepers. our version are gay. rushing beat series are better. btw, the clips on the movie will be off sync. so don't worry. anyway, watch.

It probably wasn't Jaleco that messed it up.

It was more likely Nintendo of America, or the distributer in the states at the time.

Perhaps there was a legal/copy right issue as to why they could not have used 'Rushing Beat' as the name.

As for other changes... who knows..

I so agree, Jaelco USA fucked up an awsome beat'em series by changing the story,music,sprites,portraits and gave them horrible boxart,I mean,why does the river turf boxart feature rejects from Saved by the Fuckin bell instead of the 2 main characters Rick and Douglase? WTF???

I'm thinking the reason they made Douglas bild black in the american version is because most of the enemies in the game are of different nationalities and they didn't want to stir any racial controversy.

the nutcracker was the worst.... lol... I liked to crack everybody on the nuts... but was frustrated because he didn't do that to girls... only maybe if there are girls among the enemy troops... but it's generally kinda rare to see girls being low blowed in 2D games... Agressors of Dark Combat and Tatoo Warriors are exceptions... but there are problably more exceptions... and low blows hurt more on girls!!!

I know what you mean, the fact that the reviewer made such a remark as to being almost appalled is what's racist. Personally, I think making the guy black was a good idea.
