Just me showing off my Linux system, I am running Linux Mint Elyssa. The program I used to record this was recordmydesktop. I'm mostly just showing off some of the basic features included with this version of Linux.

    only around £40

  • I'm running a laptop so my graphics is integrated with the mother board. So it would be quite costly to upgrade it.

  • Ha I just added some more ram, so maybe I could record a better version of this.

  • Fantastic setup. I always respect linux because it can be the most beautiful, elegant, and efficient UI when in the right hands.

  • Maybe the CPU isn't up to par. I have Compiz Fusion running on Xubuntu Hardy on my home desktop. I have an nVidia GeForce 6200 card with 256 MB DDR2 memory and 1.5 GB system RAM. 3D games on there play great with no lag, but running gtk-recordmydesktop while running Compiz Fusion is sort of slow because my CPU is a relatively paltry 2.1 GHz Celeron D. I plan on upgrading it to a 3.0 GHz Pentium 4. I don't think my motherboard with support a dual-core CPU (the CPU would have to have 478 pins).

  • nice vid , but a little lag :)
