THE VIRGINIAN - Season 8 Theme/Ride In

Season 8 - The Graingers remain owners of Shiloh Ranch and Tim Matheson is added to the cast. This is the last season that the series is titled THE VIRGINIAN. The ninth season is titled MEN FROM SHILOH. A bad move in my opinion.

@RandyAKing The Virginian TV series was adapted from the novel, 'The Virginian, A Horseman of the Plains', by Owen Wister. In the novel, the character of the Virginian was never given a name. The series followed suit and the character was only known as the Virginian which added to the mystery that surrounded him.

I second all thaat ronboy said 1 year ago.Except I am maudlin over it all. The film makers are turning out alot of filth and swearing...so much so that Europeans,many who copy everything done here are playing can you top this.......I do not like it but....................?

I too always felt the title change was not a good move. Still, I was disappointed Encore Western did not air the 9th and final season,"The Men From Shiloh."
