Hey there, I'm Lauren. The cast of The Help was looking glamorous at the movie's LA premiere, and we were there on the carpet to chat with Emma Stone, Bryce Dallas Howard, and the rest of the stars about the film and most of all, the food. It's in today's PopSugar Rush!

Emma Stone: I think millions of people have read this book and know this story and have related to it in some way, whether you grew up in this era or are from the south or have made an unlikely friendship in your life or known that something was right in the face of a lot of people saying it wasn't."

Even though The Help takes place in 1960s Mississippi, Emma Stone says it's a story we all can relate to. The actress may play an awkward college grad in the film, but at last night's premiere she was looking gorgeous in a soft and feminine Chanel dress. PopSugar editor Katie Henry was there as Emma hit the red carpet in LA with her costars, including Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Viola Davis, and Jessica Chastain. The women spoke to us about bonding on set, and one thing in particular . . .

Viola Davis: "Food, food, food. Lemon pie, bread pudding, everything."

Ahna O'Reilly: "A lot of eating, that was the main activity, eating fried foods, dance parties, there was some drinking . . . "

Bryce Dallas Howard: "The moment I landed, I was greeted by a woman saying, 'we're having a four hour dinner come join us,' and then it was breakfast the next morning, and then lunch, and then dinner, and I think that created the foundation of an incredibly bonding experience."

Bryce told us that she put on 15 extra pounds for her role as the story's villain Hilly Holbrook. In fact, all of the actresses were told to gain weight for the movie, in order to better reflect the curvier bodies of the women of the era.

The film, which is based on the bestselling novel by Kathryn Stockett, hits theaters today, and the majority of reviewers are giving it a thumbs up, calling it a moving, heartwarming, tear-jerker. Emma Stone told us that she already has the approval of her two most important critics: her mother and her grandmother.

Emma Stone: "They have seen it, and they thought it lived up to the book, which made me very very happy. I mean, that's just what they said, that's on them, but it made me really happy, because they were huge avid fans of the book."

Emma herself is also earning critical praise for her performance. She's in three major movies right now in theaters — along with The Help, she also has Crazy, Stupid, Love and a smaller part in Friends With Benefits. And she's about to get even more recognition; the actress just signed a deal as a new global ambassador for Revlon beginning early next year.
