Don't have this little ranger anymore, it was pretty quick for a Ranger, but didn't have the power I wanted. Note to all: Don't buy a v6 truck if your looking for speed... lol

  • Are those the stock gauges or did you pull them out of an explorer?

  • @jeepzj360 I pulled them out of a newer 2002 model ranger from a salvage yard

  • Wow, is it the superchip that runs this up to 5500 before it shifts or did it shift there before? I know that with my 4.0 SOHC the torque curve starts dropping at 3000, and I shift at around 3500.

  • @xShooter7 yep thats the chip thats doin that

  • where did u get ur chip at? i got a 2000 stright piped with a cold air and a 6" lift

  • @gasgas21 ebay

  • @alscort93 That 2.8 is a nice engine, 175 out of that size is not bad. the 3.0 in fords push 150, so i'm a little impressed with General Motors on that.

  • @rockinthebass1 It's not a manner of too small, the Colorado's and Canyon's used a 2.8, 175hp, and now use a 2.9, 185hp, 4 cylinder, and they put the 3.0 Vulcan V6 to shame. The problem with the 3.0 Vulcan is it's basically unchanged since 91. 1991 it had 140hp, in 2008 it had 155hp. The Vulcan just served as an extra engine to throw around in other vehicles, Taurus/Sable, Tempo/Topaz, Aerostar, Probe, and Windstar.

  • @SharpStuff112 Vulcan, Pushrod.

  • @brandoneargle1 He has a programmer.

  • check my 00 3.0 ranger in my channel and whats the hp gain from one of those chips i doesn't seem like much compare to my truck with intake only...

  • Ha, atleast my 4.0 ranger breaks loose when I punch it from a stand still. Though, it is considerably faster then this truck, I still wouldnt say it is a fast vehicle. Ill say it holds its own for what it is. There are much slower compact pickups out there

  • @MegaGuitarification True that. Hmm... I dont know man. Mine was fast as hell.

  • @rockinthebass1 I live in SC about 500 feet above sea level, so it's not that big of a difference performance wise.
