@crab0309 Hi mate, personally i wouldnt let mine off a lead unless i was in a securely fenced area/field. I trained my whippet, buddy, to respond/recall to a dog whistle (as he has a hearing impairment) and he got a treat everytime. he is only six month old and i found this worked for me every time. Its their nature to run off (especially when theyve sighted a chase).

Think your problem may be that she's only a year old! They're a very sociable breed... sometimes too sociable and don't always sense danger!
We take ours out where there are plenty of open fields away from roads. That way, you can always be looking around for other dogs.Take it, you also have a pocket full of treats to keep her close? Practice in the house... sit/stay/come/treat.
Don't worry... our two are not that obedient and they're only off a lead where it's safe.
