Potentially deadly means only that once on it's orbit this asteroid crosses Earth orbit, BUT that doesn't mean that the Earth will be at that point at the same time. The Earth orbit is a 600 millions miles long circumference. Hitting a 7000 miles wide planet isn't that easy.
