  • I became a transit bus mechanic because of peak oil. That's also why I bought a 60mph 80mpg scooter and a bicycle with an electric assist motor. With gas so cheap now, and since it's winter, I drive mostly but when gas goes back up or when the nice weather comes back, I'll be back on them again.

  • Kris, I think you should moderate a TV-Show, maybe an ambitious serial about ecology, resources and peak oil! You have a beautiful style, you can explain difficult questions in understandable phrases and you easily reach the hearts of the people with your open mind. You got great personal skills indeed. I hope the media business will discover you. I really love your presentation here on youtube. Keep up with your good work!

  • Thank you again, Kris. Some talked about a 25 cent tax on gas to help rebuild the Gulf Coast after Katrina. A shame that the obvious solutions are usually so mired in politics that they are ignored. God forbid a legislator should propose another "evil" tax. An aside: Just heard Bank of America got a $138 billion bailout. Where's that money come from?

  • You sure know alot about oil/gasoline/energy. Also like the quality of your videos.

  • Spare me your doomerism! Everything will be fine, with the help of human ingenuity.

  • More Mass transportation...inflation is out of control, the bosses make money in-between everything...good work..."you walk the talk"...hey, the beast of burden is that horses can't fart...free the gas and being is good

  • Americans use ~375 million gallons of gas a day, so that would generate $187.5M a day, or

    $66.4375B a year. with a .50 a gallon tax.

That's the math. How fairly that tax would be distributed is another issue.

  • first ;)
