8½ Souvenirs was an American swing jazz band founded by French guitarist, Olivier Giraud, based in Austin, Texas from 1993 to 2000. The band was named in tribute to the Federico Fellini film "8 ½" and the Django Reinhardt song "Souvenirs". The band was notable for its gypsy jazz and other European influences. They recorded four albums utilizing three different female vocalists, the last and best (IMO) of which was the sexy seductress Chrysta Bell. This song, "My Baby", is a haunting longing for a now dead lover remembered while wistfully dancing alone when no one is home.
