Perhaps the complete opposite end of the scale to his Third Symphony, this 1963 piece by Górecki shows him at his most experimental and daring. This is essential listening for those interested in Górecki, experimental music and modern composition.

"The soundworld of this twelve-minute piece is uncompromisingly gritty" commented Professor Adrian Thomas in his introduction to the piece, "Clear notes are few and far between."
