A rude child is a modern twist. I'm mean Gilda pushing her father away. The stage direction is a little to Ghetto. It could be modern with class. It is not a comedy. Missed the mark. better luck on the rethink.

These 4 actor-singers were simply amazing having only 3 rehearsals to bring this scene performance together amidst a hectic 3 show rotational schedule. It was a pleasure not only to direct them but to watch them make it their own! And non comedy? Opera is full of comedy, even when the whole show may be based in tragedy. If this was a full production I would have changed some things, but based on the laughter of the audience I think it is safe to say everyone got it and loved it!
