  • I am so horny right now!

  • But still there's a difference between the "right" thing to do, and the ideal or practical thing to do in each particular situation. I'm not saying that this gentleman is like this. He seems very honest and knowledgeable. But there are a lot of tradesmen out there that put pressure on the customers (people who really don't know what the correct thing to do is) and force them to do something that may not be necessary just to make some money. It's very unfortunate.

  • Yeah, we've got a small leak in a couple pieces of copper. Let's go ahead and re-water pipe the whole house. I'm a plumber, and he's definitely right. I bet the whole house is in bad condition, especially the hot lines. But it's completely unnecessary. No customer wants to take a routine, $300-$400 fix into a $5000-$20000 full blown renovation, unless they are already planning on renovating. Obviously depending on the size of the house cost will vary, plus carpenters/sheet-rockers/plasterers.

  • @BigSlickSerpents copper oxidizes over time, thats basically what it is. Thats why the statue of liberty is green not the bronze color of copper.

  • What is that green and white "stuff" on the copper pipe?

I ask because I have one copper pipe in my basement that is forming a large amount of this "calcium-looking and green stuff" on it. I am guessing I have a micro leak somewhere but there is no water dripping off the pipe or any moisture visible.

Help me out if you can so I know at least what I'm dealing with. Thanks!!

  • Might be worth having a look at " Water & gas Burst pipe protection with the new Burstoff system." here on youtube, this leak would have been identified and stopped using this new system.
