Free The RMS Queen Mary

She's so beautiful - Let her sail again!
Will it ever be possible to free the Rms Queen Mary? Will it ever be possible to restore her boiler rooms and engines? These questions are not part of this video. The presentation only shows how nice it would be to travel with the Queen Mary again. It would be a dream to see her sail again.

Years ago, oh about 1975, I once asked a girl who worked in the Wax Museum, when it was on board the queen mary, if they would ever reift her as a cruise vessel again and she said, that isnt possible because it would cost more to refit her than it would to build new one. The engines have been cut in half and are totaly inoperable. one propeller is sitting on display in the oarking lot, and the stacks are not even real. the aoriginals were replaced with fake ones.

Queen Mary was the Greatest Liner of all time. But now her sail days are over, & besides Long Beach promise Cunard that she won't sail again, ever. We must accept it as reality

You're right, SuperTitanicfreak. In the meantime I also realized that she will never sail again. However, it is still possible to dream and at least we can see her in Long Beach and walk on her decks.

the problem for mary is that eventhough you'd be able to restore her, give her new steam engines or more feasibly give her new diesels, get her to dry dock and replace everything below the wateline, you will never get her inline with current legislation she will never be able to pass isgott2010 requirements it has killed many classic and much more beutifull liners at the beach of alang and other places....

Well my night on the Queen Mary has come and gone. The old girl certainly looks better then she did twenty years ago. They did an awsome job with her teak decks. But there were areas of the ship that were desperate for a paint job. Too bad the City of Long Beach doesnt use all the rent money they collect from her for her ongoing restoration. After all they bought her. I wonder how the rest of the city owned buildings are kept?

My family and I LOVE the Queen Mary, she is a lady even today with all her glory and class. We've stayed aboard many times and still always want to go back. She is a wonderful ship. We are LUCKY that we can spend the night there anytime we wish.
