You should make it so the gears, frame and motor are dark like the background that way you can see more of the sculpture.

I really like the fluidity of the motion in all of your pieces. You said that it's all found objects, but in most cases it's almost impossible to figure out what you used to make them. Do you put a lot of thought into what you let show, because the objects you use assimilate so well. It's great.

Yup, its all found stuff, but I'm not really that concerned with whether or not people can tell what the things were originally. I don't use found objects to make a statement so much as to come up with shapes that I would not have thought of making on my own.

What materials are you using? Cast aluminum?

all found materials. lots of old power tools, kitchen stuff, vacuum cleaners.

Is a lot of the material for your found art originally from the time period when "art deco" was popular?

Some definitely, but mostly stuff from a little later, like the late 1950's. Deco stuff tends to be too nice to push through the band saw.
