    all the best

    joe

  • what chords are you using?

  • I think it is C, Am, F, G

  • You never cease to amaze me, Joe. This is by far my favorite Iron and Wine song, and I'm glad to hear an excellent version.

    "never, never, never quit."--Winston Churchill.

  • At first I thought it was too slow, but as the song went on it really made sense. Very cathartic, beautiful job brother.

  • You're literally the best cover for Iron and Wine I've ever heard.

and this is my favorite song by them too!

    way to go :)

  • he is covering the demo version of the song,,, that is th eoriginal version... not the in the reins version.. might wanna be informed before you dismiss his words "wink"

  • yepp looks like hes doing those with capo on 2

  • (Sorry for the double comment. I didn't think the first one went through. My bad!)

  • Pretty good version, man, though I think straying from the original lyrics was a bit jarring for fans of the song. It's hard to improve on Iron & Wine lyrics. "She rose and winked like the owner of a candy store."??? Huh??? Far less poetic (and somehow far more creepy / funny) than the original's "One grin and wink like the neon of a liquor store." You might want to find a site that offers more accurate lyrics before you record the cover. Keep it up, though, man. I like your voice.

  • Pretty good version, though would've been a lot better if you hadn't changed some of the lyrics...that was a bit jarring for fans of the song. "She rose and winked like the owner of a candy store"? Huh? Far less poetic, (and somehow far more creepy/funny) than the original's "One grin and a wink like the neon of a liquor store." I know not all internet lyric sites agree, but usually the differences aren't THAT drastic. Keep it up, though, man. I like your voice.
