Galileo also met defeat twice, he lost on Dirt in the BC Classic.

For all that Galileo accomplished on the racetrack throughout his racing career. It will never come close to surpassing what he's accomplished in the breading shed since he was retired to stud. Galileo just keeps producing G1 winner after winner, year after year!! Arguably the best stallion anywhere in Europe.
-
no doubt the best horse won but what a terrible ride Golan was given, Outside to nobody. The 1,000 guineas winner neede some cover. (yes I'm talking through my pocket)
-
Wasn't Galileo only put out to stud after losing one race? Just one race (i.e he came 2nd)? And wasn't he quite a young horse at the time, out of Sadler's Wells?
-
galileo was an unbeleivable horse and is just as good a sire unbeleiveable talent
-
when you think how good golan was, and he could not even look like catching this star animal
-
Galileo my favourite ever horse along with Sea The Stars.
What a stud he has become- let's hope Sea The Stars can be just as good!
Golan ran a cracker in 2nd here but Galileo was so good he was miles clear!
-
@thomasucc yeah they have very fluent leg action and a high head carraige this is a sadlers wells trait.
-
Awesome. First time I've seen this race. Glad his progeny are doing good things as well. Hate to see impressive horses' offspring not performing.

its so sad that gallileos mother passed away earlier this year as she was probably the greatest broodmare of the last 20 yrs anywhere and now sets herself up as a super-mare thanks to her 2 sons gallileo and sea the stars who are now at stud and gallileo has already been a champion sire. i shudder to think how sea the stars will go as well.
mares like urban sea here come along once in a lifetime:((
he is 2 goood 2 galileo is just an amazing horse

He was very good, the best Epsom Derby winner sice Generous in 1991 (I think), his acceleration of a slow pace this day was breathtaking.

Yeah it would be very like the Kentucky Derby as there are thousands of people in the infield. The difference is that for some reason they are all on open topped double decker bus's. And Galileo was the best Derby winner for a long time.
