this may work in an experimental situation but it would be very difficult to detect and locate mosquitos in a real life situation

Wow! amazing & I hope that they can develop those for us...I am pretty sure they are working on it & I would buy the first one...if I could afford it

Good luck getting certification for a product like this ! the FAA will never allow you to point laser to the sky, in case a plane or any human is around in any flying apparatus. Even if you will have a computer that do image analysis to detect a background interference, it will be hard to prove that a software failure/bug will not cause the laser to fire on anything else other then a mosquito. Interesting Idea though, I had the same idea about a month ago.

I had the very same idea. I think it's awesome that someone already took a professional perspective on this. Please get this thing on the market soon, I need one :D. God how I hate mosquitos and would like to see them lit up :D.
