Well, i suppose it'd be good for me then. I'm familiar with older versions of windows, but i'm clueless when it comes to networking. That, plus i've always wanted to run a server and i got sick of only having a 177 GB drive and being unable to use the printer. (our printer isn't wireless, and it's in a different room from my compy)

Tell that to your average home computer user.
This device is for those who aren't that tech-savvy or have a degree in comp-sci.

You're really paying for the software, which, until you've actually used you have no idea how thorough it is. HP has done a really great job with this product. I thought like you before I decided to test it out within my 2 week return period and theres no way I could do the same stuff with a server I've built myself. I also didnt pay nearly the price ($199) :D
Mac Sucks. WIndows FTW!
And do you recommend the MediaSmart?

£501.41 on my site and you can connect with a mac to share data but the real power of the backup function is Windows only
