George Carlin is the most intelligent comedian I've ever heard. His style was social commentary and he was a writer. He had a lot of moments that were more clever than funny but he changed my way of thinking.

Louis CK is the funniest comedian I've ever heard. His style is talking about how shitty his life is. A lot of his stuff is just made up shit, but it makes me laugh the hardest ever and he's influenced my sense of humor.

They are both amazing but it's apples to oranges.

@FightToWin21 I'm as open to others' opinions as the next guy- perhaps even more so, but mentioning Carlin in the same sentence as Dane Cook is going too far.

I don't care for Bill Hicks or Lenny Bruce but there's no way I'd ever compare them to Cook.

@FightToWin21 first and foremost, george carlin was a social activist, him being a comedian is just secondary, a lot of people regard him highly, including this man.
