Laura, Michael, and I participated in a ranger led tour one morning of the Biscuit Basin thermal area at Yellowstone Park. The second part or the tour went up about a mile long trail to Mystic Falls, the last part coming up a small canyon area with a slope of about 35 degrees. As we were round a small hill, a large elk was slowly making its way down the trail. While he displayed no aggresiveness toward us.....he wasn't stopping his downward travels. Michael and I backtracked, got on the downward side of the trail, and stood behind the roots of an overturned tree root where we shot this video. My only regret is that Laura was not there to experience it.
Great vid ... Awesome elk ... way to hold that camera steady .....
