PART ONE OF TWO
Here's a tutorial on producing a power-intro style sweeper for Simple Plan's When I'm Gone (and before you ask, no I won't send you the song).
It covers voicing the script, noise reduction, mic processing effects, favourites and shortcuts, echo, reverse reverb and multitrack view. (A culmination of other bits which I've covered in other videos).
* NOTE *
Sorry the video stops playing in some points. Obviously my new screen-cap software isn't as great as it should be. Overall I'm impressed with the quality but there are some places where the video freezes. Sorry!
To hear the finished product skip right to the end of Part Two (which is linked as a video response).

Why are you doing this in edit view? Multitrack is provided for precisely this job.

Thanks for the video. I use CoolEdit Pro (I refuse to upgrade to get all the stuff I don't need for more money). Just a suggestion... when you silence things - try NOT to use 'Silence'. It is very abrupt and doesn't sound 'natural'. I usually just use 'amplify' and reduce to between -25 and -40db. This will make the cuts sound more 'natural'
