I love This fiLm Soo Much I am in love with this Film xx

I have seen one deleted scene here on YouTube that I wish they had kept. Helen has her hair cut by Mr Brocklehurst. That is a real powerful scene that would have made Helen more distinct. If it would have made her more like the Helen in the novel is a matter of interpretation, though.
-
It depends on how you see her. In the novel, she hides from the cruelty around her by escaping to deep religion. Jane loves and admires her but she does not follow her exemple but fights her way through the world.
Here Helen chooses a more earthly escape-dream. Maybe Helen gets a more important role in 2006, not only offering a comfort for the power-less but also an active way out. If so, she is actually more powerful in 2006. But she is not true to character.

Helen is so meaningless in this version! :(

I love the transition they made with Young Jane and then to older Jane. Absolutely the best Jane Eyre. All of the Jane Eyre films are very good. The book is superb, my favorite actually. This film is my favorite out of the Jane Eyre ones. If anyone should disagree then that's fine. Someone people have already given up on the dream.

she is perfect to play jane, best version ever

@IzzyBnMe2 My comment was in part in reference to those complaining that most of Jane's childhood is omitted. There are differences in screenwriting and novel writing. That was my point. What reads well on the page doesn't necessarily play well on screen. I have read the book repeatedly. However, I have the intelligence to understand the functional differences between novels and screenplays.

@47thUsername Not sure what your point was... read the book.

@Nicole3900 Oh, thanks for the explanation ;)

God, just 14 minutes into the first episode and I'm already tearing.
I agree that she is the best Jane, and this is the best adaption. Ruth Wilson really convinced me to like the character of Jane eyre. Jane is strong and independent, but can sometimes be seen as cold and unfeeling without the proper presentation.

AAAAAH, I love Jane Eyre!! I especially love the genius way of fast-forwarding time with the turning of the page in her drawing book... And the way everyone's heads turn in Jane's direction when's she gets the letter... And then the music when she's in the carriage on her way to Thornfield Hall for the very first time... I just realised that if I'm going to carry on now, I'm going to repeat every single scene/happening in the book.. Just love it. Totally.
