Danny "D-Boy" Rodriguez (born Daniel Dimitri Rodriguez November 10, 1967 in the Bronx, New York - died October 6, 1990 in Dallas, Texas[1]), was a Christian rap artist.

Rodriguez saw rap music as a vehicle to reach inner-city youth in Dallas, Texas through the "Street Church Academy", a ministry founded in the Buckner Terrace area of Dallas in 1983 by his parents, former drug addicts Demi and Irma "Cookie" Rodriguez. The ministry was focused on anti-gang activities as well as fighting drug addictions among those who attended. Danny had been the Academy's first graduate.

I retrieved this video from an old tape of a recorded tv show. Circa 1986. This may be his first rap appearance.

I was married by Demi Rodriguez, Danny's father, in 1986.

christian rap, rock, reggae etc...has come a long way. This video was a stepping stone for D-Boy (the original!) his albums did not sound like this. Anyways, don't you think he was giving good advise? I guess such advise is trash to many nowadays that is why society is the way it is. D Boy was killed for the cause of Christ, so he is way off better than us struggling down here with this cruel world. & no its no joke...
