The best space sim ever. Great action, excellent pace, had you by the toes on some missions, and drama, a good storyline, excellent soundtrack. Played it years after release, and still the effects were good. Capital ships had that massive feel in them and fights between them glorious. A bit biased opinion, but of all space combat games, this one was the best.

They dont make games like this any more. All we get now is dumbed down console crap, for max price with minimal replayability.

Freespace 2 is possibly one of the best underrated game of all times. An exact opposite of the Halo series.

@Eglab just blame the original advertising...FS2 didnt get the media hype FS1 did (at least from what I read)
but I agree...as space combat games go....this is my all-time fave as well

Gamespot conisiders it one of the "Greatest Games of All Time." FreeSpace 2 was liked by critics, but Interplay was stupid and didn't advertise it at all. As a result, Interplay went bankrupt, and the SCP started.
