I associate the drum beats with battlestars because of the belligerent look about them with guns jutting out in all directions. For the violins?? I associate them with the sleek base ships.

This is one of my favorites from Season 3. This track is in the key of E flat. The part starting at 1:47 is exactly the same as what would be used for Kara's destiny theme in Season 4. All Bear McCreary had to do was take it and lower it one half step to D and make it something totally different. Why Bear McCreary isn't scoring Hollywood blockbusters is something I can't figure out. He is, undisputedly, the next John Williams.
