The FireScout VTUAV (vertical take-off and landing tactical unmanned air vehicle ) autonomous drone gets featured on Discovery Channel's FutureWeapons show.
Load in mission data, it takes off, goes to target unleashes rockets and returns to base. The operator is only needed to pull the trigger to destroy targets.
No need for landing strip, can be deployed anywhere, ability to recon better, also the ability to resupply troops mid-mission.

Great, now we can surveil and neutralize anyone in the civilized world by remote control from a safe distance. And kill them on orders from the Republican Party, if they ever get back to power. Maybe lighter than air would be good for surveilance.
