@PaintSourceNetwork Thank you. It all makes sense now after I painted my entire home! lol
I used wide packing tape on my carpet up against and underneath the baseboards. I used a 3 inch wide plastic puddy knife to get the tape to go underneath the baseboards. It worked great.

Your videos seem very professional. Others fool you into thinking, "This looks right" until you look down and see a bunch of negative comments from the knowledgeable. Your videos are the only ones without mass negative comments.
Thanks.

Would this work to paint natural wood baseboards white? Would I prime it first?

@missgigglygirl :
Better to email us through our website. That question has no short answer. We are just demonstrating here one method to consider for painting trim.

You taped the carpet?

@1971SuperLead :
Our techniques are designed for the inexperienced painter. With tape protecting the carpet, it also "holds down the carpet, many times, keeping the carpet from springing back into the wet paint. Why take a chance on a drop cloth rubbing the paint, or paint dripping on the carpet.
The technique we show for taping the baseboard is part of a process that eliminates the typical "cut in" for both walls and trim, and gives perfectly straight lines.

@PaintSourceNetwork Why didn't you tape the wall for a straighter line?
1971SuperLead 1 year ago
@1971SuperLead :
We had not painted walls at that point. We plan to tape the trim before painting walls, so the bit of trim paint up on the wall gives a bit more paint film over the caulk, and gives us straighter cleaner lines where wall meets trim. If walls are painted before trim (not our choice), we would neatly cut in the trim to wall.
We wanted to show 3 things. 1. Place paint in middle. 2. Spread paint to edges. 3. Smooth paint sweeping backward and lifting brush with a light stroke.
