@XStoneDeadForeverX Some people like King's vocals from the start, for others it grows on them, and some never like them. It's a matter of taste. Either you like the falsetto style, or you don't. If you listen to early Judas Priest or Arthur Brown, the vocal style is very similar. This is where King drew his inspiration.

@TempleOfInanna2 I like Halfords voice. He is a far more talented singer. And Priest is musically a league or two above this band. Hence their superstardom and MF's relative obscurity. I am not discounting their contribution to early Metal. But yea, the falsetto is a deal breaker for me.

Or Halford's Resurrection? That song is almost 100% falsetto style. Just strikes me as odd that you would enjoy Halford but not Diamond. As far as the music itself goes, I would argue that Mercyful Fate is on par if not a step above Priest. But hey, we all have our opinions.
