Philadelphia Police Attack Uhuru Movement Protesters in City Council

On Thursday, March 19, 2009, police attacked members of the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) in the gallery of the City Council during the City Council session where Mayor Nutter was announcing his 2010 budget.

InPDUM members were holding signs protesting Mayor Nutters budget, which cuts essential services for the African population while spending more than one billion dollars a year for police and prisons attacking the black community. Subsequent to the police attack, InPDUM international organizer Diop Olugbala, (aka Wali Rahman), and member Shabaka Mnombatha, (aka Franklin Moses), were brutally arrested and are being charged with aggravated assault on police!

During the sixties they used black prisoners to remove the mattresses from the black protesters, in the days of slavery they used black slaves to whip blacks who opposed oppression, now the "black" mayor uses black stormtroopers to remove the only protesters who happen to be black from a meeting open to the public. The cries of shame fall on deaf ears because those who trample the rights of citizens have no shame.

Philly police officers are occupational sociopaths. They are gradually, subtly deluded into viewing civilians as non-human, felonious, evil enemies who should be brutally attacked and tortured for the slightest non-criminal violation. Whether beating a jaywalker nearly to death for not instantly obeying a cop's orders or Tasering a preteen girl for doing the same (both of which have happened many times), cops are brainwashed into believing that all civilians are material objects to be abused.

Philly pigs are so mind-bogglingly arrogant that they close interstate highways for pigs' funeral processions. They impede interstate commerce just to flout their imagined importance in the faces of taxpayers who already compensate them too greatly. When a pig dies, there is one less violent member of the Blue Mafia to rob, torture, lie, perjure, frame, extort, murder, and otherwise feloniously disgrace his profession. There should be a celebration, not a major inconvenience to motorists.

Exposing police crimes does not make me a felon supporter by default. I am against all criminals whether or not they hide behind a uniform. Police misconduct is more common than most think. Also, merely because police officers sometimes do the job which they are PAID to do does not excuse their crimes. Further, the average salary of police officers is over $130,000 per year counting pension, insurance, paid vacations and holidays, sick days, uniform allowance, and many other perks.
