This is a recording of me playing the third movement of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Capriccio sopra la lontananza del suo fratello dilettissimo". It is believed that his brother Johann Jacob's departure for Sweden to join King Charles XII's military army prompted this composition.

  • I think i hear you pedaling do you think that it is ok even if it is a barock composition?

  • @roxyhappi

Thank you! I think it's fine to use the sustain pedal as long as it's used appropriately; don't let the sound get muddy! Simply use it to enhance the music. I played this piece years ago in a few different music festivals, and none of the adjudicators I faced had a problem with the pedal being used. My piano teacher even encouraged me to use it. If you have any other questions please ask! Good luck on your audition!
