An alternative to removing the sensor strip (called magnet in the video) is to merely lift the plastic that holds it, after unscrewing the side screw, and jamming a plastic spacer under its edge to raise the sensor up. I used a palstic wall plug about 5 mm thick. The scanner unit does not need to close down completely to activate the sensor, leaving room for the tubes. You can remove the spacer, screw back the side screw and take the printer for repair without appearing to void your warranty.
At the min. 02.00 you explain how to remove the magnet behind the ink; I'd like to undertand why is necessary to remove that... I'm not English, I understand not the whole explanation and I'd like to understand this point before recharging the ink.
