Yiddish. The language of East European Jews.
It originated out of High (i.e. Southern) German, Bavarian or Schwabian dialect, but has lots of Hebrew, Romance and Slavic influences. Jews carried it with them as they migrated to Bohemia, Poland, and all over Eastern Europe.
Yiddish died out in Germany some time in 18th century. But in Eastern Europe, in America, Canada, Argentina, Israel, even Cuba one can still hear it ocasionally, mostly from old people.
