Recently in a discussion with PTCL official, I got this impression that PTCL may start Wi-Max services in the near future. To a question, how PTCL will compete in the wireless domain, the answer was, PTCL is working on Wi-Max and it is in the planning phase. Though the company is focusing on DSL more than anything now but Wi-Max can not be ruled out. Another source at PTCL confirmed that the company has finalized many things in this direction and they are just waiting for right time.

Being an incumbent, PTCL's involvement in Wi-Max can really spur Wi-Max growth, but as of today, PTCL has not made any significant movement on the Wi-Max front. It would be interesting to see multiple wireless products in shape being run by a single operator. The parent company Etisalat has already tested the Wi-Max operations back in UAE in 2007 in partnership with Samsung.

Exclusive Interview with Mr. Sikandar Naqi, SEVP PTCL.

  • dehati ailako may evo signal nahi ata kiya fayda

  • PTCL have the lowest call rates , u can enjoy 1 Mbps in only Rs 840 and if u convert it in dollars then its like 10 dollars only per month with unlimited downloads and uploads. I think thats the best a company can offer.

  • Choolhay mein lay jao aisi company. Duniya ka sab say ghatiya or ganda internet pakistan mein hai
