Beatbox tutorial - Fast hi-hats

Fast hi-hats. Now you can beatbox fast. Woo for you.

I'll have a video with beats to practice when I do the next tutorials. Woulda done one this time but five vids at once would have been majorly overkill.

How to make the sound:

1 - Say "tikka", then take away the "ih" and "ah" so you just get a "tk" sound
2 - Notice how you use the front of your tongue for the "t" and the back of your tongue for the "k". This is what allows you to make the tktk sound so fast
3 - Go tktktktk as fast or as slow as you want - sorted

hey FT, i dont get how to do the hi hats so fast, and was wondering whether u do them breathing in or out while doing them or if you had any good tips on how to get it so damn fast like B-tktktktktktktktktktktktktktk­t????? PLZ REPLY :)

@NBKslonga I'm normally breathing out with them, but it's possible to do them inwards; however, this gives them a sound more similar to clicks than hi-hats. It's all about practice :)

@SiL3NTMUFFINZ When I made this video I'd been beatboxing for about three years. I practice every day, although the fast hi-hats I don't practice as much as I should. Just keep trying and trying and you'll get it down :)

PLEASE REPLY: Best tutorials on the web right here... but the fast tk's are the plague for me! My tk tk are very weak, i am literally whispering the word tica tica... but if i try and do the proper pronunciation (the actual high hat and rimshot) my speed is just shocking and have to do kicks inbetween to keep momentum... Just practice?? Thanks FT for making these tuts (Y)
