What's so sad is that everyday b-4 katrina the shelters were overcrowded,and now the people are having to surrender pets because they can't afford to take care of the ones they have or they can't find a place to live that accepts pets, so the shelters have to put more down to make room for new. PLEASE, don't shop, adopt!!!

It's so sad how many homeless animals there are due to Katrina... I sure hope they all find homes soon! A shelter near me was actually taking in some Katrina dogs a few months ago when Katrina hit.
