  • I wish I stuttered like you mine is terrible especially when I'm anxious to say something I really want to say. I can't get anything out.

  • Yeah sorry but you really dont have a serious stutter. I feel like you are able to say just about any word easily enough but you just stutter very mildly for a second. Having the feeling like saying your name seems IMPOSSIBLE is very different. People might see that you have a slight stutter but they wont feel uncomfortable or embarrassed for you, like so many people do for me.

  • I am also a teacher and have reached this decision but have not surrendered to actually doing it. I think I am going to try next year as I start the year. This video REALLY helped me to make this decision! Thanks for posting!

  • you dont stutter that bad, ur wayyy good compared to alot of ppl

  • You shouldnt have to tell people you stutter. Your stutter should tell them you do.

  • I agree Pam...Ive had a stutterall my life..Once I got to the age of about 23 . When ever I had interviews or speak with groups..I allways say First thing...I have a stutter/stammer ...then they know what to exspect ie its not such a shock to them or serprise (-; And most of all its a lot easier on me..I will mention that when I decide to do another vid (-; take care..Steve

  • I usually almost always tell people. Most people are nervous around stutterers so they have a tendency to not make a big deal about it if I say so right off the bat. Heck, one of the things that made Winston Churchhill so effective at getting his point across was by unnerving people with his own stutter.

  • I stutter too! Your "Great", I teach Aerospace Ed for the Civil Air Patrol 13-17 year olds. ( I told them as a group, it worked out well.)

  • hey. i was just on the NSA web site and saw you on a picture and i was like... i just watched her video!

I'm hoping to go to the conference next time.

  • Hello! I stutter as well. I'm a karate instructor and I found surprisingly that my junior students (ages 5-12) don't seem to ask most of the time, or they actually have a bit of fun supplying a word for me when I'm stuck. That used to bother me but I realize it's one way to involve my students in the lesson. The more often I teach, the less it is a problem. Confidence plays some role for me.

I also find I have less of a problem singing, possibly due to focused breathing control, than talking.
