147 Ali Carter Snooker World Champs 2008 - English - Part 1

Ali Carter makes a wonderful 147 against Peter Ebdon in the QF of the world snooker championships. 2nd 147 break in 2 days after Ronnie's in the world championships. Ebdon missed a 147 in the previous frame ending at 113. Part 1.

snooker is a good sport to watch but its to difficult to play and frustrating

Ronnie's is always nice to watch because of his pace but Carter's was a lot more difficult to construct.Even though Ronnie potted a difficult first red, the rest of the reds were pretty much open.With Carter there was a cluster of 7 red in a tight bundle and had he not spotted the plant, it would have been end of break. Also position from blue to pink wasn't straight forward as the blue was in the balk area and a lot more room for error!

anyone heard about Carter and Hearn??? Saw on Wikipedia, and it was on daily mirror website too!

'Carter was left red-faced after he backed down on a promise to become 'the last legion of sanity in snooker' and become a martyr if Barry Hearn took over the sport . However, he has been left embarassed by his comments, and has continued his snooker career regardless of ownership issues. Carter has since been named Ali the martyr Carter.

@constantine265 I partially agree with you, although I would also make the argument that Ronnie's maximums look 'easy' because his shot selection and overall break building ability is superior to Carter's. There's a reason Ronnie and Hendry are miles ahead of the pack in their number of competitive centuries (and competitive maximums). But any 147 is a great achievement
