  • that looks so cool respect to the elephent,

he can paint better then me lol

  • The elephant looks so unhappy, how sad. And look at those chains those idiots put on the poor elephants. Those elephants deserve to be in the wild, socializing with one another, roaming free, not being forced to do anything. hope they treat the elephants good, that is one talented elephant, but elephants deserve to be free in the wild, not to be artists.

  • this is so amazing and wonderful.

  • I don't know how you can tell happiness from this? But really the truth is not that black and white. This place is actually nice, with jungle and streams, and way better than Bangkok streets where some of these animals must live. I think this place supports that wonder of these animals and it has made me sensitive to their survival both here and in the wild. Let's all work together, pro and con regarding this place, for the survival of this species.

  • fyi elephants don't paint this way of their own volition, they have been trained to duplicate images for sale to tourists. inquiring minds can find TRUE creations from elephant artists. see elephant art gallery spotting a fake

  • I have heard that these animals used to work in the logging industry and since they don't have work in logging they are making money for their owners doing this instead of being killed. Is this true?

  • Let every artist express themselves. Who knows what the elephants are thinking..

  • this is a severely endangered species that needs all the attention it can get. sure the refuge makes money, but where do you think it goes? It needs a lot of funding to survive, and if this is a way of contributing to their survival then so be it. Everyday more and more elephants are poached for their ivory in the wild. It is tragic, but true. At least this is showing what a rare and beautiful species they are to get people to wake up and care... maybe even do something about it.

  • I agree with you.

The reason they can't be free is that people "pay to see them"!

  • Who the fuck are you to say they are unhappy? They have reported that some elephants go to the painting grounds on their own because they want to paint.

  • It's the same thing as a dog having a collar on, they don't make elephant collars though, so a chain works well

  • Whoever pays them to see this is encouraging animal abuse. Of course they have to "paint" and "entertain people", if they don't they will get beat up by those poor excuses for humans. Who knows what goes on behind the curtains? Why don't you teach little kids to paint and entertain people? Will that be funny and entertaining to watch? This is just sad, leave the elephants in the wild, where they came from, they were not made for holding a brush by their trunk and being forced to paint.
