Synopsis: The story of Kisna is set in the tumultuous times of 1930s in India when the nationalists rose up against the British, demanding Independence for their motherland.The film tells the tale of a young Indian Kisna - Vivek Oberoi who befriends a British girl Katherine - Antonia Bernath and saves her from an enraged mob of nationalists that includes his own uncle and brother. Katherine is the young daughter of a ruthless British collector. That is why she has become the target of furious nationalists. Kisna decides to protect Katherine and escort her to the safety of the British High Commission in New Delhi, from where she can be sent back to her home in Britain. While traveling together through the heartland of India, a tender attraction develops between Kisna and Katherine. But Kisna is engaged to get married to an Indian girl Laxmi - Isha Sharvani. What course the love between Kisna and Katherine takes and what happens to Laxmi, forms the crux of the remaining story. I felt sorry for Lakshami. Imagine been with someone for the rest of your life knowing that he will never love you. She spent her enter life waiting for something that kishna wouldn't give her. At time I disliked Cathrine's character. She come between two people that should have been together. All in all, great movie.
