Complete interview segment of the Clash backstage at the O'Keefe Centre in Toronto, Canada with the Undertones which was originally broadcast on CITY TV's New Music Program in 1979. The New Music was hosted by J.D. Roberts (aka CNN's John Roberts) and Jeanne Bekker (later host of Fashion Television). This clip includes the infamous concert aftermath with Cosmo Vinyl counting the ripped out seats at the venue. This rare interview was shown/re-broadcast during the Joe Strummer death coverage.

  • I cross my fingers for film makers NOT to make a fuckin' movie ABOUT Joe Strummer with an ACTOR playin' his part .

No shots , no poses , no dialogues could reach it , forget it . This would be a rape . Joe Strummer has to remain in minds and hearts and memories for who he was and all the good he did to this world .

I honestly can't picture Edward Norton - I like this actor though - playin' Joe Strummer's "part" . It doesn't fit . Nothing fits , noone , not one single actor .

    No way .

  • @eteachout no we need a proper english actor playing joe

  • 5.49 ..well joes parents had enough money to send two of their boys to public schools,i don t think he mentioned that throughout his career.no one wants to be skint,id love to make up a history for myself that made me look cool.what a prick.

  • @mancheromanchero Yes, that definitely looks like gabby. She's quite pretty

  • Chattanooga choo choo woo woo!

Love Mick's little song and dance at the end

  • @mancheromanchero i thought so ...

  • @monnakiko u people are dumb, joe was acting in every interview he gave, wise up people

  • gave up being satisfied 3yrs ago lol

  • RIP Joe

  • I saw the same show at the St. Denis Theatre in Montreal. The Undertones, one of the two backup bands, proved to be a hard act to follow. The B-Girls played first. Exciting night.

  • LOL

    Nice hat Mick XD

  • @eteachout I think if they ever made a Clash movie, they should only cast unknown actors to play the band members. It would already be tough enough trying to envision or believe ANYONE as a convincing portrayal of the legendary Joe Strummer (I feel like I know his mannerisms, voice, personality, etc so well, as any Clash fan should), let alone a famous and well-known actor like Ed Norton (I even heard that Orlando Bloom was interested in the gig -- groan...)
