Bigger engine? Right.... You've just demonstrated admirably how ignorant you are of engineering in general.

The one in the video is not an ultralight or a lightsport. However, it can be set up for light sport with the non-retractable gear version.

Now all Titan needs is to make a BF-109! lol
-
umm... having a nick like this you shouldn't ask that question, lol. ULM - Ultra Light Machine, look it up in wikipedia, ULMs have to weigh no more then 500 kg, if I recall correctly. It's the cheapest way to get airborne, pretty popular recently.
-
What is an ULM aircraft? (I thought it was funny to see my last name as an acronym)

When you compare the costs T-51 wins hands down, as Stewart 51, even at the time when it was being offered, could set you back anywhere from $ 250,000 to $ 400,000. And if you looked up the latter, the company itself made building S-51 a nightmare.
-
Exactly! With todays economy you are lucky to keep that thing fueled! Anyways, i'm about to start flying planes and looking into purchasing one of those mustangs! All I have to say for that video is that it's SO COOL! I bet you put alot of sweat, blood, and money into that, that is truly a good lookin and a fantastic machine!

There's more than a little bit of difference in cost and time between financing and building a Titan T-51 to a Stewart 51 though...
The idea with these is that they're accessible, practical and affordable - not something the Stewart 51 could ever be accused of however nice it looks.

So I went and looked up the T-51, it is being offered with a Rotax 912S unit, rated at 100 hp. Now you may know the plane on this video, I'll take it that it has a suzuki V6 as an upgrade from the Rotax. From what I could make out it really is an ULM aircraft so no wonder you wouldn't want to go past 200. That said it beats all the other ULMs with it's looks. Google Stewart-51D, it really is a scaled down mustang with monocoque airframe, layout & the rest - too bad the company went bust :(
-
I know the airframe and also that plane. That aircraft is NOT powered by the rotax. It is powered by a suzuki V6. That is the upgraded engine. Also, the aircraft has a VNE of 197. Also the engine area is only 24" wide... try squeezing a v8 in there.
-
wrong. I suppose you hold a degree in engineering? First, I was kiddin, second, there are always options for upgrade on almost anything. If that plane is powered by rotax engine, upgrade to more powerful units is simple. Also, look up a Stewart S-51 Mustang 3/4 replica, it was first being offered with a small block V8, then they gave an option of tiger V12. On the other hand, neither me or you actually know the airframe and tech specs so arguing over this is just retarded. chill.
Couldn't have said it better myself Arif21.
