JOURNALIST HELD INCOMMUNICADO DESPITE COURT RULING

Journalist Ebrima B. Manneh was arrested in July 2006 and has been held incommunicado and without trial ever since, even though a West African regional court has called for his release. Take action

Ebrima Manneh was one of five cases we highlighted in connection with International Day of the Disappeared on 30 August. Activists sent in more than 50 photographs of themselves holding up signs reading Where is Ebrima? which we used to cover a life-size cardboard cut-out silhouette to represent Ebrima. As part of a series of actions targeting the Gambian government, we delivered the silhouette along with a letter to the High Commission in London.
